I'm in Los Angeles when I realize the wedding is too far away. Ryan and I have already been engaged four months, and it already seems like forever. Being on the other side of the country makes me realize how much I love him and how putting off getting married because of practical things like flowers, gowns, and food is the wrong decision. I talk to my mother about it, then to Ryan (in that order), and decide to move up the date of the wedding. Our nuptials are now scheduled for May 24, 1998. I suddenly have less than a year until the wedding.
