I know this discussion is pretty much done, but I've decided to liven it up again. Go to this link and read up on some different experiences with this idea:

Always the troublemaker, aren't we, Suz? ;)
Well, it's nice to know that the rest of the world (okay,
okay, just other wedding chats) feels the same way,
although they didn't seem to be as vehemently
opposed as most of us are. Or maybe they're just not as
blunt. :)
You know, I really would love to incorporate penguins
into my theme somehow. Maybe I could dye a few
yellow and blue to match my colors and let them
wander around the reception site? Then I could do the
goldfish idea and people could feed them to the
penguins!!!
I'm joking, of course...

See, see...(pointing my finger) It is Suz that is the troublemaker...

Not sweet, innocent me.

ps-I liked the glass fish idea & the different shape floating candles if you have a "beach" wedding.

It's a much tamer chat over at the UIWG. I post there very rarely, but do find it entertaining.

Moi? A troublemaker? Janette, how could you? I merely offered up some additional information...

;-)

Oh please - they are so careful not to ruffle anyone's feathers. It does happen sometimes, but the way people word their responses drives me crazy! You have to read between the lines to find out what they really think.

I was trying to come up with some beautifully worded
way to call you a nutcase, but I couldn't come up with
anything. So I guess I just have to say it. Nutcase. ;)
I mean that in the nicest way possible, of course.
My fiance, by the way, decided to one-up me on the
penguin idea. He suggested having the goldfish frozen
into an ice sculpture- possibly a penguin. They could
hang out in the belly, I guess.
I can't believe I found someone even more disgusting
than me. :)

I wanna party with you guys, Teri! Where do you live again? Bruce and I area always trying to out-gross the other one. Bruce always manages to take it one step too far. Once in a while, I surprise him, but not often.

I like the frozen fish in the penguin idea. Could you soak the fish in food coloring before you froze them so they'd be in your wedding colors?

Oooh, I hadn't thought of that! And we could give them
little fishie bowties! I wonder if the color would hold up
better if they were still alive at the time? Eww! I just got
this image of them happily swimming along in the mold,
as the water gets colder and colder... gotta wonder what
happens when the ice melts, too. Okay, I'm shutting up
now. :)
We're in Houston- you can come party with us any time.
But if you think I'm bad, you should see my friend
Robyn. She can out-gross anyone I've ever known. Her
mom will end up planning her wedding- frankly, I'm
relieved. :)
