I don't know that Nup doesn't have a sense of humor....It may be that it is just deeply buried, or really, really dry. I don't know. In any event, it was a "Mary" who started this thread, and I don't think she is a regular, so we may never know why she wanted live animals in her centerpieces, unless we go back and read ALL the posts, and I for one don't care enough to do so.
N.Katt - Love the chained guests motif - could be part of a BDSM theme, very unique. LOL

Yes, I am a floral designer. I left the fresh business temporarily and now I'm doing silks... I thought some brides wanted tacky things done with fresh flowers, but you should see what nasty monstrosities can be created with artificial colors! I think the fluorescent green, silver and white color scheme takes the cake...
And yes, we do have bright lime green roses that are almost fluorescent... ugh... and the bride... what a WENCH!!!!!!!!

All i can say is, find something else more elegant than goldfish for your wedding. I cant find it appetizing eating watching a goldfish swim and heaven forbid he has a poopy hanging from his tailend ewwwwwwwww gross.

Ok Naughtykatt.. Me too, just what you wrote sounded like me about three years ago.
I do both artificial and fresh weddings and anything else that goes with it I guess, I love it.
I know some brides can be really difficult, but I solved the problem by if I figure they are going to stress me out, I just refer them somewhere else so thta way Im not stressed and can do my best work, easy soloution to letting them stress you out. The lime roses haven't reached here yet, thank goodness!!!!! doubt that I will be getting them even if they do heheh.

I really do love weddings, there just seems to be an tidal wave of wenchy brides lately. Unfortunately, I can't refer them to anyone else, there are only three designers right now! I miss fresh flowers... not only is it harder to come up with something hideously tacky with fresh but today I went to the hospital with a second degree burn from the %#*! gluegun... :(
Those lime roses have got to go, as well as the hot pink calla lillies... what are the buyers of our company smoking?????

LOL at least you didnt sit on the glue gun, I know it sounds dumb but it hurts like anything!!! my favourite time to do this is usually valentines day!
bummer that you cant refer them elsewhere! most of mine are really good thankfully.
I was thinking about doing wedding design over in America, but now Im not too sure with lime roses, hmm might have to rethink that one .
