 Threads : Rainbow theme ideas?

I'm starting this thread for Renee who wants a rainbow theme (see the "Hi, I'm..." thread).

I was thinking about your idea for "pot of gold" favors. You could purchase a bunch of mini terra cotta flowerpots (.25 ea). Spray paint these gold (for a splotchy gold foil look) and fill them with rainbow foil covered truffles. Wrap the whole thing in a bit of tulle and a rainbow assortment of ribbons.

Another idea would be to have each bridesmaid carry hand-tied bouquets of one color (all roses?). Each BM would carry a different color of the rainbow. This would look lovely with all the BMs dressed in ivory or platinum gowns.

If your programs are more than 1 page, make each page a different color of the rainbow. You could also use this idea for your invitations. For example: use light blue card stock for invitations and pink envelopes; use yellow for reply cards and green for reply envelopes; use lavender paper for map/directions.

She could also paint the pots black and fill with those gold coins and wrap in tulle. Or, if it close to Hallloween, you could get those little black cauldrans (plastic) and fill them.

You could have a different colored cloth on each table at the reception and have mixed color napkins. Of course the centerpieces would be lovely with flowers of all different colors.
You'll absolutely have to dance to "Somewhere over the Rainbow". Your wedding cake could be white with a huge rainbow accross the top and sides. If you decide to go with balloons, do a rainbow arch over your seats.

That's a neat idea with the fruit/veggie tray Carol & Robin! (Also very impressive that someone else knows the proper order of the colours of the rainbow!) We're having a late night buffet that we are putting on ourselves (not the caterer), so fruits/veggies/little sandwiches/squares etc along with the cake will be included.

I did think about having my bridesmaids in different coloured dresses, but vetoed that to maintain some kind of unity - they'll all be in blue (hopefully periwinkle), haven't found the dress yet though.
