Threads : March at the Reception

I'm curious what people are using for their "entrance" theme at the reception. I've seen some cute ones. As I mentioned before, my friends used the Star Wars theme. My cousin used the Chicago Bulls theme (that was darn cool, actually, because my cousin's father announced them as a line-up). I can't think of any other ones right now (they must now have been memorable). I am using a royal fanfare from the YES--Cinderella CD that I have...it's a very elegant, strings version of it, not at all like the movie, for those of you out there giving me dirty looks. It *sounds* like an entrance-like song, so it will work pefectly (whether or not I was having a fairytale wedding). (:-)

Come to think of it, I forgot about an entrance song! Oh my all the little things!!! Thanks for the reminder! Perhaps something like "I got you babe" by Sunny and Cher
I think the royal fanfare from Cinderella will be very nice. I wonder what other little things I've forgot??

I forgot too! I definately want to use something fun, "I got you babe" sounds good! I think you should go with the Cinderella entrance, sure if you like it. Don't worry most people won't even recognize the song or what soundtrack it's from.
I personally am trying to stay away from classical in the reception, my father will die though if we don't dance to "Danubio Azul" OH MY GOODNESS! I don't know what to do!

my sister ued "men in black" and all the guys came in wearing sunglasses. As tacky as it sounds, it was really cute!

We didn't use one at all. We just joined the cocktail party towards the end and started mingling. I don't like the big entrance and introduction thing. Just a personal taste, definitely no criticism of anyone who has one!

We're not going to use one either. We'll be at the cocktail party when people get there and then will disappear and when we walk into the club for dinner we'll be the only ones introduced.

Just my personal preference - yours sounds nice crentz. So do all the others.

My friend, who is Jordanian, used a traditional folk song to enter her reception. Most of the guests had never been NEAR anything Jordanian before and the Bride was worried people wouldn't "get it." They did! Everyone started a slow clap as the party entered and eventually made a circle surrounding the bride and groom -- like a dance. It was a total riot and totally spontaneous!

We won't be doing one. One: because we don't really want one. Two: because one of my bridesmaids has a severe form of Arthritis, she will be worn out enough from walking down the aisle, walking back up the aisle, standing there for pictures and just plain walking from the car to the church, to the photo site, to the ballroom. This is also the reason we won't be having a receving line either. Well, sort of. We will be there close to a 1/2 hour before cocktails, so we're just going to casually greet guests as the are sitting at the tables, before dinner. Those we don't get to and those we did, we will talk to after the dinner and speeches. This seems to be the best way. It's either that or start another war with the FMIL, cause I'm making her daughter do too much.
