What is everyone giving for gifts? (To the people in the wedding party, participants such as readers and singers, and parents) PS: if you're giving your parents framed pictures (have to wait for them) what will you present them with at the rehersal party?

This is what we are doing: bridesmaids- silver plated make-up brushes in a velvet pouch groomsmen- silver plated cocktail shakers with their initials ushers- glass pilsner with their last name initial engraved on it readers and greeters- silver plated mirror compact with their first name initial on it parents- we got them frames that have 2-2x3 openings, 1-4x6 opening, and a 5x7 opening. They are beveled glass frames with silver outlining on the openings. This is what we are doing with them (i'll use me as an example): In the 2-2x3 openings I am putting one with a pic of me and my dad when I was younger and one with me and my mom when I was younger. In the 4x6 opening I am inserting some type of thank you poem that I am going to do on the computer and then the 5x7 opening will be a wedding pic of both my parents and me. We are presenting them at the rehersal dinner, In the 5x7 opening we are just going to put "reserved for wedding picture" or something like that.

Our gifts are as follows... BM and Groomsmen: Leather wallets MOH and Bridesmaids: Sterling silver and crystal necklace/earring set Ushers: Pierre Cardin pen and pencil set Greeters/Guestbook: Sterling silver necklace Parents: Silver picture frame photo album. We will probably give them a photo of all five of us instead of just the two of us. We, too, will be presenting the gifts at the rehearsal dinner.

I'm still trying to come up with something wonderful for the bridesmaids, but the groomsmen are getting: - Khacki pants (to wear for wedding) - Daisy necktie (custom made for wedding) - Picture frame with "IOU photo" of wedding party Our parents are each getting smaller versions of our wedding album. We'll give an "IOU" card at rehearsal dinner. Our hostess and coordinator (my 2 pals) will probably get picture frames and/or candles -- something for their homes. My shower hostesses will get a floral arrangement delivered the day after each shower.

Honest opinions please! I still have to get the bridesmaids something and was thinking of monogrammed stationary/notecards. I could get it in a pretty color similar to their dress. I would give this along with a necklace to wear the day of the wedding. What do you think?

Bruce got his groomsmen leather cd wallets. I bought each of my BM's something individual to her. My MOH received a silver bracelet from Tiffany's, one BM loves makeup, so I got her a really good set of brushes, and the other BM loves Florence, Italy, so I bought her a coffee table book on the palaces of Florence. I also bought them all necklaces and earrings (different for each woman) that they could wear with their dresses (or not). They all chose to wear them. Parents got frames for pictures. That was all we did. Oh and torif - I think the stationery is a really nice idea!

Groomsmen: They each get a necktie to be worn for the wedding, and Joe paid for half of each of their $300 suits. They each seem happy with this arrangement. Bridesmaids: I bought blue cardigan sweaters from J Crew. They are embroidered in white with a few flowers cascading over the right shoulder and down the front. This coordinates with their dresses, which are white linen with blue flowers cascading down, accumulating at the hem. The dresses are sleeveless, and my wedding is in Boston in April, so I thought the sweaters would be a good choice. Matron of Honor: I haven't decided about her gift. (She's pregnant and is wearing a long-sleeved solid blue maternity dress, so no need for a sweater.) I'm thinking of a hand-bound silk-covered album with some photo corners, for photos. We are getting parents albums from our photographer. Readers and other helpers will get boutonnieres or corsages on the wedding day. I'll present my sister with a bouquet at the reception.
