IT NEVER FAILS! Got the quote from my caterer on Friday at 5pm. After almost falling off my chair when I saw the grand total I drove home, and by 6pm I had a whopper of a cold sore on my face. I'm so totally disgusting to look at right now! This is the third one in 9 months. Hmm... about the same time all my wedding plans started. Thanks to all those who volunteered prescription medicine on a past thread, I'm on Zovirax and Famvir to try to clear this monstrosity up quickly. I JUST KNOW I'll have one of these suckers for the wedding : (

Funny, I too have a whopper!! It started Wed. morning, and by the evening, it was honkin' huge!!! Thank god it is already scabbed over now (I have Jamie's sisters' bridal shower to go to on the 28th of this month). I use the Zovirax pills & the gel application plus Zilaton (the zilaton helps dry it up and also makes a hard like "crust" I know it sounds disgusting, but stops the itching and spreading untill the antibiotics get into my system...

I know this sounds gross but it really works. put clearacil(sp) on it and in three days it will disappear. use the max.

Clerisal (sp) Max, you mean the pimple stuff??? I have poured alchohol on mine before and it only caused it to spread down my chin... That is when I went to the Doctor to get anitbiotics...I get these twice a year, when the seasons are changing, and more so if I get really streesed out...

Nope, I have an even more disgusting, but working home remedy!
According to my lil pocket sized, picked up in the impulse isle at the grocery store, Home Remedy book...ear wax is the bestest thing for a cold sore, and it works, honest! Apparently there is stuff in the wax that'll help, just don't lick your lips or kiss with it.

My goodness, I'm glad I don't have that problem! I can't imagine the ear wax thing!!! My problem is ZITS!!! Aaaaaaaaa I just know I'll have a great big one on my day! Does anyone have a home remedy for getting rid of zits? Or even a "store bought" remedy that really works? Yes I've read the other thread on ZITS but I'd rather not have to get a prescription or order something via the net. Any advice??
