We have almost everything done,(hehe) but I am SURE there are things I am not thinking about doing. Please just fill me in on those last minute things..

My caterer had some off the wall things I NEVER considered, such as:

- Electrical outlets nearby?
- Where's trash stored (out of site)?
- Who's cutting and serving cake? Or will slices be on a table for self-serve?
- Same idea with coffee...
- Who is the designated "coordinator" in case vendor has questions that day?
- How do you want butter served? Pats vs. molds?
- Who supplies ice?
- Having champagne toast? Pre-poured?
- Who are the vegatarians? Name/table #?

And more...
- Do you need special guest towels/flowers in ladies room?
- Do you have a time plan/agenda for each vendor?
- Do you have an emergency kit (aspirin, pins, etc.)
- Will your florist help with pew bows or other set up tasks?
- Who will set the reception tables? Do they know exactly what they're supposed to look like?
- Where do favors, guestbook, cardbox, etc. go?
- Does band/DJ have all necessary songs?
- Are you having hotel goodie bags? Who will deliver them?
- Do you have the rings?????? : )

Good luck!

I'm 3 months to go too - June 3rd. Thought I had everything under control until that meeting with the caterer! My reception is NOT supplying ANYTHING. I had to rent: linens, china, glassware, flatware, bread baskets, tables for cake, guestbook, punch, chairs for ceremony and a tent (in case of rain). I got this damned idea of having my wedding out in BFE country, being a "natural bride," hand-making all the little things (a la Martha) and doing everything against tradition. Let me tell ya, there's something to be said about planning at a place that caters and hosts on a daily basis!!! Thanks for letting me vent. Sorry to stress you out.

I can't believe I'm this calm this close to my wedding date! (April 8) I really don't feel too stressed out, and I have this feeling of certainty that all will be well. Something must be wrong with me. I'm delusional! Or in denial! Or maybe it's that I actually have something bigger claiming my immediate attention (I finally reserved a U-Haul for my MOVE this Wednesday. And I'm not yet fully packed....)

But I feel like we've nailed down a lot, and we keep accomplishing things.

Last week, I met with my boss and got approval for 4 weeks of vacation (in a row!) So not only will I have the three weeks after the wedding off for the honeymoon, but I'll be able to take off the entire week before the wedding. (I suspect that will pay off in a big way.)

Joe suddenly realized that we'll need parking for the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner (the tiny church lot won't hold all the cars) and when I called the parking guy at Harvard to ask if we could also rent some spaces in the garage on Friday night, he offered to throw that in for free. So we have free parking from 3-10 p.m. on Friday. *Whew!*

My parents finally sent my crinoline to me, so I went to the seamstress yesterday to get the hem and bustle done on my dress. (No other alterations necessary, happily!) After that, Joe and I walked into his suit store and the first tie I picked up seemed perfect for his new suit. The groomsmen are all wearing Garcia ties with a small blue pattern on a yellow background, but we wanted something different for him. The one we found is an all-over blue pattern outlined in yellow. Definitely coordinating with the others, but not too similar. Somehow, the perfect possibility. And when we got it home, it did look great with the suit.

So that made several little (but crucial) things to check off our list.

We went through a little angst last night talking about the rehearsal dinner with his dear but rather anxious mother, but this morning, Joe's big brother called and said that he can ask his wife's nephew (who makes award-winning clam chowder for a restaurant down in Rhode Island) to make enough chowder and lobster salad for the rehearsal dinner. So we can have the lobster rolls and chowder after all, at a decent price, without stress to Joe's parents. Plus grilling some other options (bratwurst and hot dogs) for the kids and those not inclined to seafood.

I realize we still have a lot to do, but the response cards keep showing up in my box, so it still feels like progress!

* I've been working on making updates to the program, and will be printing that up soon.
* I need to send some changes to the organist so he's up-to-date (not a big deal--just an additional verse to one hymn, and one piece added to the prelude instead of during the service.)
* Seating charts will be an issue soon. (Fortunately, I have been faithfully writing up a place card for every acceptance card I've received, at the same time that I update the gift list, so those will be ready.)
* We still have to make a list of desired formals for the photographer.
* We need to buy our punch cups and figure out what we want for dippers. Also, buy festive napkins for the cake table at the buffet.
* Contact the reception site coordinator re: number of tables, floor plan, bar requirements, and what they will do for us as far as putting out the place cards and centerpieces.
* Nail down details of rehearsal dinner, including who's responsible for making/picking up what dishes. Buy wines and sodas for rehearsal dinner, plus cups, plates, etc.
* Confirm rooms at B&B for me, Joe, and my parents.
* Order some tropic-weight pants for the honeymoon.
* Choose ribbon for bouquets, corsages, bouts; get floral tape and pins.
* Practice dancing some more!
* Go to the church and do some major cleaning.
* Buy a comb and make the veil (have the headpiece, tulle, and instructions.)

Ugh--just remembered that I'm actually behind schedule in a few areas that need attention ASAP.
* BLOOD TEST.
* Call and set up our telephone service for the new place.
* Place the final flower order.
* Get my hair cut.

(I'll have to check this site tomorrow morning to remind myself of these rather pressing items!)
Joe got his blood test last Wednesday, and I need to get going on it too, so that we can get the license in time to make the waiting period. We're okay for time still, but I can't keep forgetting about it!

(Feeling slightly less calm, now!)

But this process has been so great! Joe and I are still having the best times together, and so excited about the new apartment. Happily, I get to move in first! (My main agenda with that is to set up the kitchen cabinets sensibly and to hang up my shower curtain of choice!)

Just under 4 weeks, now! Woo-hoo!
