Ok, awful subject but....

My face has been fine for a long time & I just broke out with one nasty blemish AND I just got invited to meet some of my FH's family tomorrow!

Aaaaaaahhhh!

Any ideas, suggestions, products? I know it will disappear in a few days, but......

What to do to make sure it doesn't happen on wedding day?

I started using "Nature's Cure". It is not a quick spot removal treatment but something to be used over a couple of months to help control break-outs that are due to internal imbalances due to diet, stress or hormonal changes. It has natural homeopathic tablets as well as a vanishing cream. It seems to work pretty good for me. For more info check out: http://www.naturescure.com

There are tiny little stickers jammed packed with something you put right over the blemish and then sleep on it (it's supposed to be almost totally gone in the morning). They are expensive and I think maybe Biotherm makes of version of them. I haven't tried them yet, but my sister said it worked.

I haven't tried this myself, but I read that if you put Visine on a Q-tip and then dab it on your "blemish", it will help. Also Calamine lotion....

I have been so stressed out because of all the planning for my wedding that I started to break out. I bought ProActive Solution. It is from an infomercial and Judith Light (the mom from that t.v. show Who's The Boss?) is the spokesperson. I am not kidding you....I have not had a pimple since I started using it. I am totally amazed. I got the phone number by searching for ProActive Solution on the internet. It has a money back guarantee if it doesn't work so I thought I would try it....it was worth the $45 that it costs!!!

If you can't get rid of the blemish, I know some tips to hide the darned thing. My cousin works the make-up counter at a dept. store, and always has wonderful tips.

To hide it you will need a green tinted foundation or concealer. I think every woman should have it in her make-up bag. I've seen these foundations and concealers from K-mart all the way to the Prescriptives counter. Dab the pretty green over the blemish...the green will 'cancel' out the redness. Dab some foundation or concealer over the area, use powder and boom it should do a dissapearing trick. There is also a powder shaded different colors of greens that will hide redness. I think clinique makes it, not really sure. You could use that as well.

During the winter I get a...blachhhh...chapped chin, it turns red, the green foundation really helps hide it.

Now, of course I never experience this problem myself (LOL), but I have this "friend," and she has found that dabbing a bit of bacitracin or neosporin ointment on a blemish after washing m- er, her face at night makes the blemish go away amazingly fast (though it's not gone by the next day and this won't help you at lunch today!).

Unless you're talking about a huge boil or goiter or something (ewww...) try to remind yourself that it's a lot more apparent to you in your self-consciousness than it will be to the people around you...

Janette, hope your meeting went well!

If you break out right before your wedding, there's an injection that a dermatologist could administer to the blemish, that apparently makes it disappear within hours. I don't know what it's called, oh heck maybe it's in the PDR, wait a sec ... oh darn, all I'm finding are topicals and orals. There's some tough stuff out there, but now I'll have to figure out what that injection is. Will post when I find it.

In any case, if you're concerned about this (and, like me, don't have Andrea's, um I mean her friend's, self-assurance) then you might want to find a good dermatologist *before* you have an emergency, just in case.
