What do I do with all the photos that aren't going in our wedding album????? We have lots of awesome black and whites, etc. How do I display them? What kind of book do I use? I want to do something special but don't know what. We did take a photo, our invite, our program, Trav's boutineer, etc. and made a shadow box that's hanging on our wall. Just don't know what to do with the rest of the wedding stuff...(definately don't want to put it in a box in the closet!)

I had a couple framed. It was a big frame and the mat had two cutouts with pretty filets. It cost about $100. but it looks really pretty. I have some others just in small frames around the house.

frame them with simple black frames and make a collage on the wall with all the frames. Use different size frames....Look in Pottery Barn or IKEA catalogs---they always use this idea on their walls!

Once you select some for framing, why not look for an additional photo album? If you have lots of pictures, I think it would be great to have an additional album of wedding photos. A handbound one is a nice option, Japanese-style with silk covers and a ribbon-laced binding. I'm currently being tempted by that option and by a handsome album with wood covers. Or you could look for an album style to match your wedding album. My preference would be for paper pages (acid-free paper) and photo tabs. Go to a good stationery store with a nice selection of scrapbooks and albums. I've seen some very nice hand-bound albums in gift stores and one local bookstore. Also, if there's a specialty paper store in your area, that's a good source. I've seen at least two here in Boston that sell handmade, silk-covered albums. I'm having my mom's wedding album re-done in one of these albums, and it will match the parents album I plan to give her. There are also a lot of books on book-making out there. I've seen several in the crafts section of the local bookstores, and they get very detailed with a lot of ideas and instructions. You could design your own album. Finally, Suznyc recently posted the URL for a supply company. They sell acid free papers, photo corners, and scrapbooking supplies--stuff like that.

We were actually given a album as a wedding gift that a friend made for us, so we used a lot of left over photos in that and it sits on a artists easel in our living room. We never actually had our photos put in an album because I didnt want something that I would only look at now and then over the years, we found a really nice idea that I have no idea how to explain...Depending on where you are from we found it at Target, its basically a screen/divider made of wood, free standing abbout six foot high with three panels that are hinged together,so it can be folded straight or fanned out in three sections, there are seven spaces on each side that hold a Ten by eight photo..we ended up using some standard size photos and some larger and put them against a black mat backing as a lot of our photos are sepia and black and white, it looks really nice, if you have the space in your house and can find one maybe you could display some of your left over photos this way. With the rest of the leftover photos that we have which are heaps, I think I will make a special album with fabric samples and different things from the day.

I would go along with the extra photo album idea. My brother gave us a fabulous Christmas gift that I'm going to use for the rest of the pictures and the stray ones that people have sent me that they took with their own cameras. It's a wooden box and inside there are 10 separate "mini-album" things. I didn't think it'd be this diffucult to explain. LOL! Okay, Think about hanging folders- you've got the bars on each side and the folders literally hang from those. Same principal only instead of folders they are groups of 25 sleeves for the pictures held together by a long piece of wood. I think I've seen them at Hold Everything. Very neat and different idea! Of course I'll need to move them over to an acid free book at some point in time but for now it's great!

Lissy, we actually got two of those as wedding gifts. I do have some photos in there, but am worried about keeping them there too long. I definately need to put them in an acid free scrapbook at some point. Thanks for the great ideas!

QUESTION: for those of you who didn't/aren't moving in with your husband until after you are married.....WHEN did/do you actually move in? Movers come after the honeymoon? Take more time off of work to move? How did you do it/will you do it???? (I tried to phrase this question for both "old timers" and brides-to-be.....I hope it makes sense with all the //// marks!)

Carol ~ perhaps you should start a new thread with this question...you'll probably get more response. :)

Carol, my FH will be moving into my apartment. He is moving things over little by little (whatever he doesn't really use or need at home right now) and then I guess we'll just move whatever's left over when we get back from our honeymoon.
